Bilitski-Unice
Krista Jill Unice of Smithfield and James Anthony Bilitski Jr. of Johnstown were united in marriage on Sept. 1. The Rev. Joseph R. David officiated the marriage ceremony at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Uniontown. A reception followed at Lakeview Resort and Conference Center in Morgantown, W.Va.
The bride’s parents are George and Lana Unice of High House Street, Smithfield. The bridegroom’s parents are James Bilitski Sr. of California, Pa., and Joan Scialli of Boca Raton, Fla.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a satin A-line gown with Alencon lace bodice, embellished with pearls and crystals with semi-cathedral train. A pearl and rhinestone tiara held a three-tiered veil of illusion with pearl accents and rolled edge.
Tessa Unice was maid of honor for her sister. Bridesmaids were Theresa Flaherty and Deborah Bilitski, sisters of the bridegroom; Aimee Joller, cousin of the bride; Jennifer Stasko and Jennifer Kellman. Kaitlin Roderick, cousin of the bride, was flower girl.
Best man was Joseph Guay. Ushers were Barry Bilitski, Steven Scialli, cousins of the bridegroom; Brett Pearce, Christopher Schwab and James Noyes. Connor Unique, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring bearer.
The bride graduated in 1991 from Tri-Valley Senior High School. She is a 1995 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in gerontology and also earned a master of education degree in elementary education in 1999. She is a substitute teacher in the Johnstown area.
The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of Geibel Catholic High School. He graduated in 1995 from California University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering technology. He also graduated in 1997 from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., with a master of software engineering degree. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in computer science at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He is assistant professor of computer science at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and is a senior software engineer at Concurrent Technologies Corp., also in Johnstown.
The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the Bahamas.
They are residing on Ottawa Street, Johnstown.
