Bank reports earnings

Ralph J. Sommers Jr., chairman/CEO of the Carmichaels-based Community Bank, has announced record growth and earnings for the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 2002. Community Bank’s net income increased to $2.2 million or 16.2 percent over the same period in 2001. Meanwhile, the bank’s assets grew by 12.84 percent to $262,580,000 despite a slower-than-expected economic turnaround.

“The bank’s success is a direct reflection of our consistently growing customer base and our staff’s personal, top-shelf ability to meet customers’ financial services needs,” Sommers said. This was evidenced in both bank loans and deposits, which increased 11.45 and 8.31 percent, respectively, over the same period in 2001.
