Man shot
State police said they are investigating an attempted homicide in which Mark Renninger, 35, of Dilliner was shot in the back while walking north along Route 88 at 9:45 p.m. Saturday. The victim was transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., for treatment of his wound, where he was reported to be in serious condition on Sunday night. State police are asking anyone with information about the case to call state police at Waynesburg at 724-627-6151.

Woman injured
According to state police, Linda Cummings, 42, of Fairchance received minor injuries when the vehicle she was driving collided with a vehicle driven by Matthew Nicol, 23, of Uniontown on North Morgantown Street at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

State police said that no one was injured when three vehicles collided on Connellsville Street at 2:59 p.m. Saturday.

State police said that Grace Shultz, 39, of Normalville received minor injuries when the vehicle she was driving struck a utility pole on Melcroft Road at 4:32 p.m. Jan. 20.

Woman cited
According to state police, an Uniontown woman was cited for having an open container of alcohol in Dollar General’s parking lot at 7:36 p.m. Saturday.

Vehicle recovered
State police said that a stolen 1984 Volkswagen owned by Louise Cottrell of Lake Lynn was found undamaged along Morris Buncic Road at 11:12 a.m. Jan 12.

Truck damaged
State police said that James Younkin, 33, of Ohiopyle was not injured. However, his truck received severe damage when it stuck a tree and ruined 37-feet of guardrail along Route 40 on Jan 11.

Money stolen
Daniel Miller of Connellsville told state police that someone stole $225 from his residence located on Breakiron Road between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday.

According to state police, James Basinger of Normalville was not injured when he lost control and rolled his vehicle while traveling north along Route 711 on Friday.

Pole struck State police said Mary Matz, 18, of Coal Center was not injured when the vehicle she was driving collided with a utility pole along Route 51 around 8 a.m. Friday.

According to state police, William Gaster II, 30, of Lemont Furnace was not injured when the truck he was driving struck a wooden fence and a pole on 498 N. Gallatin Ave. around 3 a.m. Saturday.
