Nancy Wahula Hughes, 46, of Waynesburg, Pa., died Saturday, January 25, 2003 in her home. She was born September 9, 1956 in Waynesburg, Pa., daughter of Walter S. Wahula and Mary Guzik Wahula of Carmichaels, Pa.

Nancy was a former employee of Flushing Shirt Company in Jefferson, Pa., and Secretary to Magistrate Ruth Hughes (now deceased) of Waynesburg.

Currently she operated Hughes’ Quick Shine with her husband, James.

She was a member of Waynesburg Moose Lodge and enjoyed gardening and NASCAR racing.

On September 12, 1987 she married James H. Hughes, who survives.

Also surviving in addition to her parents and her husband are a sister, Mary McKean and husband, Adam, and a brother, Stanley Wahula and wife, Theresa, all of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the PAUL MICHAEL LESAKO FUNERAL HOME INC., 204 Dowlin Avenue, Carmichaels, Pa., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Thursday, January 30, at 10:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church, Nemacolin, Pa., with Rev. Fr. John Bauer as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Jefferson, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
