William Rulong
William Rulong, age 56, of Crucible, Pa., died at 5:24 a.m. on Sunday, January 26, 2003 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born January 12, 1947 in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Robert C. Rulong of Uniontown and the late Evelyn Louise Cales Rulong.
Mr. Rulong served as an Air Defense Radar Repairman with the United States Army in Okinawa during the Vietnam War where he received his Expert Rifle Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He worked as a River Boat Operator for 22 years and retired in 1995 from Consol Energy as a River Boat Captain.
Mr. Rulong resided in Crucible for the past 19 years and was a member of Greene Valley Church of God and a Life Member and past Commander of Cumberland American Legion Post 400 in Carmichaels.
His wife, Donna J. Watson Rulong, whom he married on April 24, 1978, survives.
Also surviving, in addition to his wife and his father, Robert, are a son, Matthew M. Rulong at home; four daughters: Lisa Simkovic of Carmichaels, Pa., Tabitha Mattei of Nemacolin, Pa, Priscilla Rulong of Crucible and Lorraine Rulong at home; two grandchildren: Isaiah Rex and Nicklas Mattei; three sisters: Shelley Ellis of Simi Valley, California, Terry Donley of York, Pa., and Roberta Lewis of Crucible; three aunts: Marilyn Banghart, Gladys Danforth and Vivian Cohen all of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 29, at 1 p.m. Pastor Bill Williams will officiate.
Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and V. F. W. Post 3491 will accord Military Honors at the Funeral Home following the Funeral Service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Greene Valley Church of God, Post Office Box 437, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
