One-car crash
State police said a car driven by Ryan R. Grooms, 22, no address listed, slid off Walnut Hill Road and struck a utility pole Sunday at 10:40 p.m. Police said Grooms and his passenger, Brian M. Swartz, 25, no address listed, were not injured.

Burglary
State police said someone entered a business at 375 Clark Road and stole a personal check in the amount of $89 and $50 cash from a cash register sometime between 8:30 p.m. Jan. 20 and 9 a.m. Jan. 21. Police identified the victim of the burglary as Harry Douglas Dice Jr. of Smithfield.

Woman cited
State police filed a citation for accidents involving damage to unattended vehicle or property against Sylvia Sue Switch, no address listed, in the office of District Justice Brenda Cavalcante. Police alleged Switch lost control of a car, struck a retaining wall owned by David Lee Sanders at 316 Messmore Road and fled the scene at 3:10 a.m. last Friday.

Hit-and-run
Someone struck a parked, unattended car in the parking lot of the Sheetz gas station in Bullskin Township Sunday at 11:15 p.m. and fled the scene, according to state police. Police identified the owner of the car that was hit as A.L. Lowery of Acme.

DUI pending
Driving under the influence charges are pending blood/alcohol content results in the case of a man whom state police stopped along Route 119 at 2:35 a.m. Sunday for an equipment violation and suspected he was intoxicated.

Truck crashes
State police said Christopher Hartley, 22, of P.O. Box 460, 460 First St., Vestaburg, was driving a truck along Crawford Road last Thursday at 11:27 p.m. when the truck went off the right side of the roadway onto an embankment and rolled onto its roof. Police said Hartley and his passenger, Nicholas Heitchler, no address listed, were not injured and walked from the scene.

City police logged a report of shots fired Sunday at 10:50 p.m. along Dunlap Street between Searight and Coolspring Street, where Kaz McClain said he was outside shoveling a sidewalk and a man known to him fired a gun.

City police responded Monday at 5:18 a.m. to 57 Millview St., where Dell Hunter said a man yelled and screamed at her, ripped her shirt by pulling at it and broke pictures and a glass coffee table.

Two arrested
State police said Kathleen S. Hall, 25, of Connellsville and William David Eicher, 28, of Connellsville were arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment after a domestic incident Sunday at 6:50 p.m. at a residence along Geary Drive.

Two-vehicle accident
State police said drivers Phil Kerns of Bentleyville and Brad Baker of Beallsville were involved in an accident Monday at 4:17 p.m. along Maiden Street. Neither driver was injured, police said.

Warrant served
City police located a man, Jeffery Johnson, wanted on a bench warrant/protection from abuse in the course of making a traffic stop Sunday at 8:45 a.m. Police said Johnson got out of a van in an alley behind Cleveland Avenue and officers chased him on foot until an officer tackled him at an Evans Street location. Police said Johnson was treated for a cut to his finger and bruises to his knee and taken to Fayette County Prison and the bench warrant was served.

Theft from vehicle
Emily Jackson told city police her car was parked at Clark and Collins avenues Sunday at 12:50 p.m. when someone took a bag from the car. Police listed the contents of the stolen bag as compact disc cases, 20 compact discs, 12 markers, a compact disc player, a journal and $5.

Shed damaged
City police said a vehicle that had been traveling in an alley struck and damaged a metal storage shed at 236 Coolspring St. Police said the incident occurred around 4:57 p.m. Saturday and the driver fled the scene without the vehicle. Police said the vehicle sustained no visible damage and was towed away.
South Connellsville
Drug arrest
South Connellsville police and the Fayette County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Jan. 17 at 1711 S. Pittsburgh St. and charged the resident, David Green, 43, with various drug-related offenses. Green was arraigned before District Justice Ronald Haggerty Sr. who set a cash bond in the amount of $25,000 and remanded Green to the Fayette County Prison.

Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents: n Timothy W. Stancil, 26, of 210 S. 8th St., for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found in an intoxicated condition along South 8th Street on Jan. 19. Teri Cavalier, 36, of 219 Rear N. 10th St., for public drunkenness after she was allegedly found in an intoxicated condition and creating a disturbance at Highlands Hospital on Jan. 25. Joseph Davanzo, 34, of 314 N. Prospect St., for public drunkenness after he was allegedly found in an intoxicated condition along North Prospect Street on Jan. 23.

Sexual assault suspected
City police said a woman reported Saturday at 5:02 p.m. that her juvenile daughter was possibly sexually assaulted in Uniontown by a family member. Police spoke about the matter to a specialist at the Children’s Hospital child advocacy center.

Juvenile cited
Police have filed charges against a 17-year-old Uniontown juvenile in connection with several burglaries that took place in the north side of the city. According to police, the charges stem from five incidents that took place during the early morning hours of Jan. 20, when the teen allegedly entered four residences and attempted to enter a fifth home in the area. Police said the teen was apprehended after they tracked his footsteps in the snow and found him in a North Pittsburgh Street residence. In addition to four counts of burglary, the teen has also been charged with four counts of criminal trespass, three counts each of theft by unlawful taking or disposition and receiving stolen property and one count of criminal attempt. All charges were filed with the Fayette County Juvenile Probation Office.

Man jailed
A city man faces a Jan. 31 preliminary hearing in connection to a Jan. 23 incident when he allegedly punched a woman and threw a knife at her. Barry R. Harvey, 45, of 1009 W. Crawford Ave., is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment stemming from the incident. Police said the unidentified woman was treated at Highlands Hospital. Harvey was arraigned before District Justice Dwight Shaner and lodged in Fayette County Prison after failing to post the $10,000 cash bond imposed at the hearing. The preliminary hearing will take place before District Justice Ronald Haggerty.
