Man jailed

A city man faces a Jan. 31 preliminary hearing in connection to a Jan. 23 incident when he allegedly punched a woman and threw a knife at her.

Barry R. Harvey, 45, of 1009 W. Crawford Ave., is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment stemming from the incident.

Police said the unidentified woman was treated at Highlands Hospital.

Harvey was arraigned before District Justice Dwight Shaner and lodged in Fayette County Prison after failing to post the $10,000 cash bond imposed at the hearing.

The preliminary hearing will take place before District Justice Ronald Haggerty.
