Veronica Potzner Balog
Veronica Potzner Balog, 92, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, Pa., died Sunday, January 26, 2003 at 10:10 p.m. in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born January 3, 1911, in Freeland, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Lapa Potzner.
A homemaker, Mrs. Balog was a resident of the Belle Vernon community for over 50 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Balog was preceded in death by her husband Michael Balog in 1975; 12 brothers and sisters; one daughter-in-law, Ethel Balog and one great grandson Dale Christopher Williams.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law John “Skip” and Gloria Balog of Belle Vernon and Edward Balog of Perryopolis; four grandchildren, Barbara Holzwarth and husband Frank and John Balog and wife Janet, all of Rostraver Township and Veronica Morgan and Nancy Balog, both of Perryopolis and three great-grandchildren, Michael Balog and wife Rene of Tennessee and Aaron and Caitlyn Morgan, both of Perryopolis.
Visitation will be held today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon.
The Parish Rosary will be said today at 2 p.m. and Service for the Dead will be held tonight at 8:30 p.m., both in the funeral home. Celebrant will be the Rev. Msgr. Andrew D. Parvensky, pastor of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Rostraver Township.
