Edith Jean Connor Metts
Edith Jean Connor Metts, 79, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Sunday, January 26, 2003 in Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born January 3, 1924 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late Bruce Connor and Bessie Oldland Connor Hutchinson. Also preceding her in death was a sister Betty Miller and her step-father George Hutchinson.
Surviving are her husband Peter H. Metts; three children, David Metts and his wife Peggy of Lexington Park, Md., Susan Matthews and her husband Robert and Peter Metts and his wife Pamela, all of Lemont Furnace; four grandchildren, Petey and Dion Metts, Sherry Crum and Bobby Matthews; four great grandchildren, Billy, Zachary, Amanda and Shannon; two brothers, George Hutchinson and his wife Edith of Carmichaels, Pa., Jim Hutchinson of Uniontown and Charlotte Carlson and her husband Henry of Elmira, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Roger L. Yeager officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
