Gladys W. Kidwell
Gladys W. Kidwell, 90, of Morris Crossroads, Lake Lynn, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2003, at her home that she loved so much. Born July 12, 1912, at Stewartstown, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Daisy Porter Wolfe.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fairchance, and the Philathea Sunday School Class. She spent many years working on the family farm, and loved to garden, do her canning each year and grow flowers.
A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Charles Darr of Fairchance; two grandchildren, Kelly and Joshua Darr; three sisters, Bertha Cole of Cheat Lake, W.Va., Daisy Malvito of Morgantown R.D. 4, and Beatrice Bixler of Lake Lynn; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Kidwell on Feb. 15, 1976; four brothers, Floyd, Frank, George and Charles “Chuck” Wolfe; and three sisters, Donna Malvito, Lizzie Hixenbaugh and Pearl Hixenbaugh.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Additional viewing will be held, in the First Baptist Church of Fairchance on Saturday from noon until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Russell Brown officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
