Harry F. Franks
Harry F. Franks, 61, of Bobtown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2003, at home.
He was born July 3, 1941, in Greene County, Pa., son of the late Silas and Sarah Bane Franks. Harry was a retired coal miner having worked for Shannopin Mine in Bobtown, and a member of UMWA Local 6159. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Franks, with whom he would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on February 17, 2003; one daughter, Marcy Thomas and her husband, Gregg of Smithfield; one son, Harry Franks II and his wife, Heather of Bobtown; four grandchildren, Sarah Franks, Hayley Isler, Samantha Brady and Tristan Franks; several brothers and sisters; a special nephew, Harold Franks Jr.; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Rachel Isler and her husband, James and their children, Jennifer McGee, RaeBeth McGee and Audra McGee, all of Bobtown; and a special little girl, who was like a granddaughter to Harry, Caitlyn Shockney.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters; and his great-niece, Heidi Jo Garrison.
Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, Main Street, Point Marion, on Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003, until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. R. Scott Teets officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
