Lucinda Fields of 81 Connellsville St. told city police Tuesday that her registration plate was stolen off her 1992 Mercury Capri.

William Cahnby, no age or address given, reported to city police that someone struck his vehicle in the parking lot behind the Trinity Baptist Church at 64 Morgantown St. between 7 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday causing damage to the left front door of the vehicle.

Tiffany Cole of 407 E. Main St. told police that someone pulled the power antenna off her vehicle Tuesday while it was parked behind her home.

Kitchen fire
City police and fire personnel responded to a stove fire at 27 1/2 E. Kerr St. at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday. Sherwood Frederick, who lives at that address, told police that the fire started when a potholder, above the stove, fell on a hot burner. Police also said that Frederick had the fire out before firemen arrived. Firemen set a fan in the doorway to help get rid of the smoke.

Public drunkenness
Dennis Mayer, no age given, of Gallatin Avenue was charged Tuesday with public drunkenness. He was arraigned before city District Justice Mark Blair and placed in the Fayette County Prison.

Man charged
Police filed charges of public drunkenness against Mark Lee Soisson, 46, of 1407 S. Arch St., after he was allegedly found in an intoxicated condition along West Austin Avenue on Jan. 26.

Fire breaks out
Firefighters from five departments in two counties were called out for a house fire in Brownsville Tuesday night. The fire at 96 Frick St. began around 9 p.m. and kept the firefighters on the scene for nearly two and a half hours. They were called out a second time for a rekindle. Harold Nolfold owned the house and it was occupied at the time of the fire. Everyone was reportedly evacuated safely, though one South Brownsville firefighter was treated at the scene for an asthma attack. The South Brownsville, Brownsville No. 1, Hiller, West Brownsville and California fire departments responded to the call.
