Uniontown Shots fired
Joseph Fowler Silva of Rear 16 Wilson Ave. told city police Wednesday that someone fired seven to nine shots in an alley near his home. Silva also told police that he saw a green Ford Taurus leave the area and that he saw four people run into a nearby building.
Police found seven bullet casings outside the building, but when they checked inside they didn’t find a .22 caliber semi-automatic weapon.

Items stolen
Richard L. Gossett Jr. of 149 Searight Ave. told police Thursday that someone took his Rent A Center speakers and television from his living room while he was visiting a friend in Brownsville.

Gene Cable of 73 Murray Ave. reported that his snow blower and leaf blower were stolen from his garage sometime Tuesday night.

Disorderly conduct
City police cited Robert G. Davis, no age or address given, with disorderly conduct after Davis got into an altercation on Iowa Street with David Settie, no age or addresses given.
Police said Settie accidentally splashed Davis with his car and then apologized to Davis. However, Davis became unruly, according to police, and when he was told to leave the area he threatened Settie. Police handcuffed Davis and transported him to the police station, where he was cited for disorderly conduct and released.

Kim Renze of Goodwill Industries, 4046 Connellsville St., told police that someone broke the front passenger side window of her 2000 Dodge Caravan on Wednesday night.

Linda C. Mitchell of 81 Connellsville St. said someone took the black mailbox off the side of her home Wednesday night.

Warrant served
City police reported that an incident outside a South Street bar early Wednesday morning led to the arraignment of James Pitts Sr., 38, no address given, on an outstanding DUI warrant.
Police said they were called to the tavern for a man bleeding and when they arrived they found Pitts bleeding.
Police took him to the Uniontown Hospital for treatment.
According to police, Pitts refused treatment so they took him to the police station and he was served with an outstanding warrant. Pitts was arraigned before District Justice Randy Abraham.

Death ruled homicide
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco has ruled that the death of an elderly woman who suffered a heart attack following a home invasion is a homicide.
Freda Dale, 89, of Venetia was pronounced dead at her home at 4:44 p.m. Wednesday. According to Warco, she suffered a cardiac event due to the traumatic experience of being tied up and robbed. Warco placed the time of the event around noon.
According to Peters Township and Pennsylvania State Police, four white males posing as utility workers invaded the home and tied up Freda Dale and her husband, 91-year-old Shannon Dale.
A home health-care worker found the couple tied up and lying on the floor during a visit about 3 p.m. and called police after Shannon Dale told the worker about the intruders.
Shannon Dale was taken to Canonsburg Hospital, where his family asked that his condition not be released. Police said they did not believe that his injuries were life threatening.
Police said the suspects were driving a blue pickup truck.

Accident
No one was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Route 40 in Brownsville Sunday afternoon.
Christine Lenk, 44, of Brier Hill hit a patch of ice near the Playford Avenue overpass, spun and struck an embankment.
There was moderate damage to her car.

Man arrested
Scott Garlow of Vesta 7 Road, Brownsville, was arrested at 6:16 p.m. Jan. 8 by Centerville police for driving under the influence, reckless driving, suspended license and open container after he was involved in a one vehicle accident along Barneys Run Road.

Centerville police cited Lisa Healy of Carmichaels for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness on Jan. 22 at 12:36 a.m. after she was found sleeping in her truck in the middle of Fishpot Run Road.

According to police, the following were cited for disorderly conduct on Jan. 7 at 5:45 p.m. for an incident at John Cheria’s residence on National Pike, Brownsville; Ian Workman of Vesta 7 Road, Jason Huey of California, Ronald Ridge of Daisytown, Amber Byrne of Daisytown and John Sullivan of Brownsville.

Man arrested
Centerville police arrested Thomas Hoag for drug paraphernalia, open container and suspended license on a traffic stop and vehicle search on Route 88 in Low Hill at 10:29 p.m. Jan. 17.

Robbery
The clerk at the A-Plus mini-mart told Brownsville police that two people entered the store while he was stocking the shelves early Wednesday and removed money and cigarettes from the store.
The incident was reported at 2:08 a.m.
