Harry I. Lowry
Harry Irvin Lowry, 76, of Smithfield, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1926, in Dunbar, Pa., son of the late John Lowry and the late Rose Bryner Lowry Shaffer.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a retired self-employed horse trainer.
Surviving are the following children, Harry Bryner of Georgia, Rose Willis of Arizona, William Bryner of Pennsylvania, Betty Sheppard of Arizona, Elly Knight of Los Angeles, Lisa Brown of Florida, Marcia Hartman of Florida, and Rusty Lowry of Tennessee; the following brothers and sisters, Christina Hughes of Dunbar, John Lowry of Smithfield, Rosella Decker of Pennsylvania, Florence Lowery of Dunbar, Charlotte Grow of Pennsylvania, Gertrude Dalton of Pennsylvania and Dale Ray Shaffer of Pennsylvania; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Robert Walters; brothers, William “Nib” Lowry and Charles Lowry; and a sister, Ann Hughes.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar, Pa., today from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
