Bertha Zubal Komanecky
Bertha Zubal Komanecky, age 88, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, June 27, 2003 at her residence. She was born December 23, 1914 in Kyle, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Stephen Zubal and Anna Shimko Zubal.
She was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Uniontown and was a former kitchen worker there.
She was a Secretary at her husband’s business-Nicholas Komanecky’s Nationwide Insurance Agency.
She enjoyed her crossword puzzle sand watching sports on television and loved her family and brother and sister.
Her husband, Nicholas Komanecky, died June 3, 1986. Also deceased are three brothers, John, Milan and Andrew Zubal, a sister, Mildred Zubal Kufta, an infant brother, Urban Zubal, and parents.
She is survived by her brother, Stephen Zubal Jr., and a sister, Verna Zubal Fowler, both of Uniontown; a special niece, Christine Bobick and husband, Jim, of Chalk Hill, Pa.; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Tuesday, July 1) until 10:30 a.m. when a Panachida Service will be held.
Divine Liturgy follows at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association, or St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
Parastas will be held today at 7 p.m.
Visitation was also held Sunday, June 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, June 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
