Merlin R. “Bob” Wert, 69, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Monday morning, June 30, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born August 14, 1933 in Berks County, Pa., son of Charlie Wert and Lottie Smith Wert.

Merlin attended United Christian Temple.

He will be remembered for his hard work ethic, his love for his family, and his love for fishing!

Two brothers, Elmer and Charlie, and parents preceded him in death.

Merlin is survived by his beloved wife, Genevieve Victor Wert; children: John Victor of Ohio, Wendell Skinner of Uniontown, Marvin Skinner of Elliottsville, Pa., Linda Mae Fordyce of Uniontown, Betty Jean Hall of Dunbar, Pa., Rose Marie Williams of Uniontown, Pa., Cathy Ann Runkle of New York state, Bobbie Kelley of Uniontown, Brenda Parnell of Ohio, William Kenneth Wert of High House, Pa., and Julie Scranton; 45 Grandchildren; and numerous Great Grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 3, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Galen Winebrenner officiating.

Interment follows in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Georges Township, where Military Honors will be accorded by General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood, Pa.
