Wilbur S. Goodwin Sr.
Wilbur S. Goodwin Sr., 61, of Smithfield, Pa., died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 29, 2003 in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born January 27, 1942 in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of Ray E. Goodwin Sr. and Rebecca Brownfield Goodwin.
He was a lifetime resident of Georges Township.
His brother, Ray E. Goodwin Jr., sisters, Laura and Rixie Goodwin, granddaughter, Hannah Agnes Archbold, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Agnes Hlatky Goodwin; children: Wilbur Goodwin Jr. and wife Jacqueline, Fairchance, Pa., Ray Goodwin Sr. and wife Lisa, Deland, Florida, Mark Goodwin and fianc’e Misty, Smithfield, Rebecca Archbold and husband Richard, Smithfield, and Benjamin F. Goodwin at home; nine grandchildren; three sisters: Betty Lou Hartley and husband Frank, Arlington, Virginia, Hazel Goodwin, Smithfield, and Alchesta Wade and husband Carl, Lake Lynn, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 3, until 1 p.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Rory Ruder officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
