Patrols planned
Uniontown police will begin adding patrols on Charles Street to combat speeding motorists who use it as a shortcut around Berkeley Street and endanger children who live and play in the area. The speed limit is 25 mph.
“People are putting neighborhood children at risk,” Police Chief Kyle Sneddon said.

Man arrested
Justin Rahm, 21, of Connellsville was charged with attempted homicide after he allegedly stabbed Kelly Flynn of Connellsville in the neck with a pocketknife early Wednesday during a fight in the Luigi’s Restaurant parking lot, along Route 119, state police said.
Flynn was flown to UPMC Hospital after the 12:45 a.m. incident. Her condition was not available Wednesday evening.
Rahm was arraigned before District Justice Dwight Shaner and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Robert P. McGee, 54, of 13 Shady Lane was charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats after he allegedly threatened his neighbors with a gun at 11:36 p.m. Tuesday, Uniontown police said. He was arraigned before District Justice Herbert Mitchell Jr. and released on $10,000 unsecured bond.

Car stolen
A blue 1987 Buick Riviera, bearing Pennsylvania registration FDH-5862 and owned by Ronald Harless, was reported stolen from a parking lot along Connellsville Street between 3 and 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Uniontown police said. Harless told police he had six or seven fishing rods and fishing gear in the car.

Donald Walters, 41, of 18 Lincoln St. was cited for disorderly conduct at 7 p.m. Tuesday for allegedly making three hang-up calls to Fayette County 911, Uniontown police said.

Lynn Clingan of Uniontown told city police that someone stole a black wallet containing a credit card, bank card, Social Security cards and a driver’s license from her unlocked car between 6:30 and 8 p.m. Monday at Bailey Park.

A Ranger 6900 CB radio and a Northstar 4000 CB radio were stolen from a Kenworth truck owned by Linda Luckey of Uniontown between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at a garage on Brown Street, state police said.

Lawrence Fowler, 28, of 10 Shady Lane was cited for open containers for drinking a can of beer on the sidewalk at 12 Shady Lane at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, Uniontown police said.

City police filed charges in the following unrelated cases:
– Police charged Samuel E. “Eddie” Nudo, 37, of 3401/2 N. Arch St. on Tuesday after he allegedly punched a Connellsville woman in the nose in the 300 Block of North Arch Street on June 30.
– Police charged Michael Miller, 28, of 595 Mount Etna Road for disorderly conduct Monday after he allegedly continued to use profane language while arguing with a woman in the 200 block of East Patterson Avenue.
– Police cited Paul Douglas Hart, 37, of 109 Fury St. after he was allegedly involved in altercation and found intoxicated at an organization on North Pittsburgh Street.

Brownsville police said a person in a silver Mustang was seen attempting to break the windshield on a vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Sheridan Avenue in Brownsville around 2 a.m., Wednesday.

Leonard Jackson Sr. of 6 South Hills Terrace told police that while he was sitting on his porch, someone known to him entered and fled from his apartment around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, and when he went inside, he found $45 missing.

Russ McMaster told Brownsville police Sunday that he was installing fencing at his parents’ home at 1512 Water St. when a man came by and tore four posts out of the ground, damaging one of them.

Bicycle stolen
Carla Michaux of 35 South Hills Terrace told police that someone stole her son’s silver Mongoose bicycle from her front porch Sunday. The $150 bike has “Hoop Team” written on it in orange letters.

Threat made
A white woman asked to use the restroom at 505 Baltimore St. in Brownsville on Sunday, and then once inside demanded money. When the demand was refused, the woman grabbed a pair of scissors and threatened the resident but then fled in a red car, police said.

Carjacking reported
A man told Brownsville police that two black men jumped into his car while he was stopped at the traffic light on Market Street at Brownsville Avenue at midnight on Sunday. The man said he was assaulted and forced to drive to Uniontown, where his assailants left him on the side of the road. His vehicle later was recovered in Uniontown.

Brownsville police charged Daniel Eugene VanDivner, 19, of 47 South Hills Terrace on four counts of disorderly conduct for allegedly screaming obscenities and threatening to kill others at 3:45 p.m., Saturday. He was arraigned before District Justice Herbert Mitchell and jailed after failing to post 10 percent of a $10,000 bond.

Brownsville police charged William Shaw, 19, of 66 Cemetery Road with simple assault, defiant trespassing and harassment after he allegedly grabbed his sister by the neck and threw her to the ground Saturday at 3:03 p.m.

Someone reportedly tried to break into the Exxon gas station in Brownsville around 1:35 a.m., June 26. The safety glass in the door didn’t shatter, preventing entry to the business.

Jeff Wilhelm, manager at the Eckerd store in Brownsville, said a heavyset, white woman with long blond hair left the store with a Wahl Home Pro and Oster Hair Clippers at 5:23 p.m. June 23. The woman fled left in a green truck occupied by two white men.

Citation issued
Brownsville police cited Techia Sutton, 20, of 142 Lynn Road for driving under the influence after a traffic stop at midnight June 21. Police said Sutton failed a field sobriety test and had a blood-alcohol reading of .20 percent.

Hearing postponed
A Wednesday preliminary hearing for homicide and aggravated assault charges filed against Matthew David Warman, 29, of 162 Clover Top Road, Markleysburg, was postponed until Aug. 20 at 9:15 a.m. before District Justice Wendy Dennis.
Warman faces charges in the stabbing death of Jeremiah Allen Spano, 22, of Taylor Road, Confluence.
State police allege Warman stabbed Spano in the abdomen during a fight involving a group of people not far from his Clover Top Road home at 1:25 a.m. May 31.
Police filed the aggravated assault charge, alleging Warman held a knife to the throat of Christina Kimmel of Confluence during the altercation.
