Enrico (Regis) “Reggie” Lanzi
Enrico (Regis) “Reggie” Lanzi, 88, of Brownsville, Pa., died Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in Beverly Health Care. He was born Nov. 11, 1914, in Dunbar, Pa., son of the late Giovanni and Celesta Cammeresi Lanzi.
He was the owner/operator of Lanzi Auto Repair for 54 years in LaBelle and Brownsville, Pa., a member of the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree and Sons of Italy of Republic, Pa.
A veteran of World War II, he was a Staff Sergeant, and was a member of American Legion Post 295 of Brownsville.
He was a member of the Gas Dealers Association for 54 years, the LaBelle and Hiller Fire Company, and the Brownsville Band Boosters.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Evelyn Lattanzi Lanzi; four children, Marlene Sawayda and husband, Michael of Harrison City, Pa., Paul Lanzi and wife, Cheryl of Brownsville, Pa., Nickolas Lanzi of Wayne, Pa., and Angela Ryan and husband, Kenny of Brownsville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Michael Sawayda and wife, Susan of McKees Rocks, Pa., Becky Sawayda of Wilmington, Del., Christina and P. J. Lanzi and Kenny Ryan Jr., all of Brownsville, Pa.; brothers, Vincent Lanzi of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and Raymond Lanzi of Detroit, Mich.; and sisters, Jean Maglanis of Scottdale, Pa., and Geraldine Stockie of Beckley, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, George, Pete and Embrey; and sisters, Angeline, Antoinette and Mary.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., in the Historic Church of St. Peter’s of Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as celebrant. Interment in Milfred Cemetery, where full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 295 and West Brownsville Post 940. Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary today at 3:30 p.m.
