City police responded to 14 fireworks complaints Wednesday through Saturday from Millview Street, Pershing Court, Walnut Street, Butler Street, Miller Avenue, Cleveland Avenue, Mount Vernon Avenue, Lenox Street, Edgemont Drive, Lincoln Street, Maurice Street and Whiteman Avenue.

Assault attempted
Stephen Neubauer of Uniontown told city police that someone known to him attempted to strike him while he was in his vehicle at the post office Saturday.

Vehicle damaged
Larry A. Jadyk of 150 Lenox St. told city police a bomb damaged the bed liner and roof of his vehicle around 10 p.m. Friday.

City police said someone cut the tires on four cars parked at a North Gallatin Avenue apartment complex Friday night.

City police assisted the Uniontown Fire Department with a structure fire at a vacant house at Rear 114 Walnut St. around midnight Friday.

Vehicles damaged
James Stephens, owner of Stephens Security, told city police someone damaged two security vehicles by throwing a large explosive device toward them in the Pershing Court lower lot around midnight Saturday.

Machine damaged
City police said a fireworks blast damaged a pop machine at Petro’s store on Searight Avenue around 1 a.m. Friday. Police said the blast blew off the machine front, which struck and damaged a fender on a vehicle owned by Christy Thomas of Rockville, Md.

Television stolen
Carl Dice of 21 McCormick Ave. told city police an unknown man broke into his residence and stole his television set around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
West Brownsville
Advisory issued
The West Brownsville police department requests that residents do not part their vehicles from the 200 through the 400 blocks of Main Street at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, when Norfolk Southern Railroad will sweep the street.
Also, the police department warns that all above- and below-ground swimming pools must be in proper working order.
Any tires or other items containing stagnant water must be removed or properly treated, due to the threat of West Nile virus, police said.

Kenneth C. Holt of 14 Locust Ave. told city police someone known to him threatened to stab him with a screwdriver around 3 a.m. Friday.
