Barbara A. Bohan
Barbara Ann (McCann) Bohan, 71, of Masontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2003, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., with her loving family at her side.
She was born Aug. 13, 1931, in Masontown, Pa., a daughter of Wallace Hoover McCann and Barbara Ellen (Ewart) McCann.
Her parents and a brother, Robert W. McCann, who died in World War II in the Phillipines, preceded her in death.
Barbara was a graduate of Masontown High School, a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Masontown, and Order of the Eastern Star Uniontown Chapter No. 263. She was a wonderful wife, mother and sister, whose warmth and personable spirit never failed to light up a room.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 46 years, Joseph R. Bohan; a daughter, Donna Ann Bohan at home; four sisters, Helen McCarty of Boston, Mass., Margaret Avery of Masontown, Pa., Mary Lou Kantes of West Virginia, and Betty Jenkins and husband, Joe of Point Marion, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Mildred (Bohan) Volpe; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Private visitation will be held for the family at the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa., this evening from 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday until 9 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. French Jenkins, her nephew, officiating. A Committal Service will follow at 10 a.m., at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., SERVICE CHAPEL. Private Entombment will be held at the Sylvan Heights Cemetery Chapel of Memories.
The Order of the Eastern Star Uniontown Chapter No. 263 will conduct services this evening at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations, in Barbara’s memory, to EMS Southwest Inc., Ambulance Service, 590 Rolling Meadows Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
