Willa Beatrice Stith Palmer
Willa Beatrice Stith Palmer, age 77, of Masontown, Pa., passed Friday morning, July 11, 2003 in UPMC Montefiore, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born August 2, 1925 in Leckrone, Pa., daughter of Jesse Stith and Bertha Mason Stith.
Willa graduated from the former German Township High School, McClellandtown, Pa., and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Leckrone.
Her husband, John W. Palmer, an infant daughter, Romana, one son, George, one sister, Viola Bennett, two brothers, Harry Stith and Carroll Stith, and parents preceded her in death.
Surviving are five sons: John W. Palmer Jr. and wife, Linda, of Masontown, Pa., Horace Palmer and Michael Palmer and wife, Bobbie, all of Uniontown, Pa., Mark Palmer of Masontown, Pa., and Vincent Palmer of Leckrone, Pa.; three daughters: Carla R. Holcomb of Brownsville, Pa., Debra Nelson and husband, Robin, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Kimberly Eilam of Uniontown, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a Godchild, Carmelita Marshall of Leckrone, Pa.; three sisters: Celestine Johnson and husband, James, of Jamaica, New York, Emily Liggins and husband, Joseph, of Washington, D.C., and Thelma Stoner of Riverdale, Georgia; one brother, Jesse Stith of Brady, Pa.; three sisters-in-law: Mildred Stith, Leckrone, Pa., Dorothy Linton, Uniontown, Pa., and Ruth Linton, St. Albans, Queens, New York; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Grand Howard officiating assisted by Rev. James Burton.
Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
