Aide to visit The Legislative aide from the office of State Rep. Peter J. Daley will be at the Menallen Township Municipal Building, Searights Crossroads, on Friday from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. to meet with constituents from precinct 3 of New Salem.
Matters dealing with state government may be referred to this office.
The Fayette County office has been relocated to 113 A Thornton Road on Route 166. Residents also may phone 724-785-1201.
Banquet scheduled
The Brownsville Area Schools Alumni Association will hold its annual Distinguished Alumni Banquet for Friday, Aug. 8, at 7 p.m. at Hugo’s Banquet Hall, on Route 40 west of Brownsville. Tickets at $15 each may be purchased at two locations: the Brownsville Area High School business office and BARC Offices in the Flatiron Building, Brownsville.
The alumni association inaugurated the Distinguished Alumni Program in 2001. This year’s honorees will be Donald Croftcheck, Redstone High School Class of 1961; Carl DellaPenna, Brownsville Area High School Class of 1982; Kwelin Nassar, Brashear High School Class of 1965; and Samuel Shapiro, Brownsville High School, Class of 1945.
Croftcheck played professional football with the Chicago Bears and now operates several successful businesses in the Fayette County area. DellaPenna owns nine NAPA stores in western Pennsylvania and is active in his church and community. Nassar worked many years at Pittsburgh television stations and is director of development for the Carnegie Science Center. Shapiro served 16 years as treasurer for the state of Maine. He lettered in baseball at the University of Pittsburgh.
