Mary M. Karpaik Phillips
Mary M. Karpiak Phillips, 101, formerly of Connellsville, Pa., died Sunday, July 13, 2003 in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born November 26, 1901 in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Prokop and Susan Brier Karpiak.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew C. Phillips; three brothers, Stephen, Michael and Francis Karpiak and two sisters Johanna Roseck and Helen McKinley.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville and its Christian Mother’s Society.
She is survived by her sister whom she resided and traveled with throughout the United States for over 32 years, Catherine M. Karpiak of Lemont Furnace and a nephew James Robert Karpiak of Md; and also many other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 N. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville where a Blessing Service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, Connellsville with the Rev. Fr. John Butler as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Cemetery, Connellsville.
A Parish Wake Service will be held in the funeral home today at 3 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service with the Christian Mothers of St. John’s R.C. Church.
