The God and Me program is the first step of a four-part God and Country program in which the student voluntarily commits to going beyond the normal church school experience to become involved in an intentional and personal study program under the direction of the church minister and program mentor/counselor. It is a program, which requires a strong commitment of time and energy of study and to act out the faith, along with an expectation to continue in spiritual growth.
The program requires the participant to participate in an in-depth Bible study and perform various tasks, including the design and creation of board games, posters and murals which identify how the participant’s life is touched daily at home, school, church and at play by the teachings of the Bible.
The God and Country program is administered by the Program of Religious Activity With Youth or P.R.A.Y. and is open to youths of all participating faiths. While participants are not required to be involve din scouting to participate, the awards earned under the program are the only religious achievement awards recognized by the Boy Scouts of America.
The administration of the program was held under the direction of the Rev. Tom Logston, pastor of Carmichaels First Christian Church, and program mentor/counselor Kristy Marzo who also serves as a Sunday school teacher with the church.
Wozny, the son of Pam and Charles Wozny, attends the Carmichaels First Christian Church where he serves as an acolyte and attends Greene Valley Christian Academy in Rices Landing. His maternal grandparents are Dora M. Vassallo Ullery and the late John Vassallo of Headlee Heights and paternal grandparents, the late Betty M. and Charles W. Wozny of Carmichaels.
