Mary Ellen Gates Myers
Mary Ellen Gates Myers, 83, of Fresno, California, and formerly of Fairchance, Pa., died Tuesday, July 8, 2003 in Kaiser Hospital, Fresno, California. She was born February 24, 1920 in White House, Pa., daughter of Charles J. and Ruth C. Gates.
She was predeceased by her husband, James “Buddy” Myers on February 20, 1980, a son, James C. Myers of Browns Mills, New Jersey, two daughters, Bonnie C. Myers Hice of Jefferson, Pa., and Connie J. Myers of Uniontown, Pa., brothers, William, Marion, Kenneth and Charles Gates, one sister, Florence Dixon, and parents.
Surviving are a son, Gerald R. Myers and his wife, Jean E. Myers, of Webster, Texas; a daughter, Loretta M. Myers of Fresno, California; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia J. Myers of Browns Mills, New Jersey; seven grandchildren: James Franklin Myers, Robert W. Myers, Mary Jane Varos, Donald Mark Hice, Shaun R. Myers, Joshua C. Myers and Jacob S. Myers; five great-grandchildren: Ryan Varos, Alex Varos, James Myers, Ashley Myers and Madeline Myers; a sister, Dora Verbus; and a brother, Walter “Bud” Gates.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2003 at 11 a.m. in White House Free Methodist Church with the Rev. George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment will be private in Fletcher’s Cemetery, Morgantown, West Virginia.
