Alvin B. McGrady
Alvin B. “Rooster” McGrady, age 75, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 9 p.m. in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, Pa. He was born November 30, 1927 in Vestaburg, Pa., son of Ernest McGrady and Lillian J. Chester McGrady.
Mr. McGrady was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He served with the Airborne Division.
He retired from L. T. V. Coal Company and was a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 762.
Mr. McGrady was a member of Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391 in Fredericktown, Pa., and also the former V. F. W. Post 6698 in Vestaburg.
Two sisters, Mildred McGrady and Norma McGrady, three brothers, George, Delmar and Earl McGrady, a niece, Mary Jane Pivovarnik, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by one nephew, Paul McGrady, Brownsville, Pa., and many extended family members and a lifetime of good friends.
Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME LTD., 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, Pa., today from 4 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, July 22, at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Edd Myers officiating
Interment will follow in Fredericktown Cemetery where Full Military Honors will be accorded by Hanson-Cole American Legion Post 391, Fredericktown.
