Harry John Fortune
Harry John Fortune, 85, of Dunbar Township, Pa., died Monday, July 21, 2003 in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 8, 1917 in Duquesne, Pa., a son of the late Henry and Margaret Stiner Fortune.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased b a sister Mary Jane Linn.
Harry had been a resident of Dunbar Township since 1966. Prior to his retirement in 1979, Harry worked as a roll mill supervisor for the U.S. Steel Company at it’s Duquesne Works for 35 years.
Harry was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Air Corps. He was a Sargeant in the 8th Air Force stationed in England. He was a Crew Chief on a B-24 Liberator. Harry also served in the Civil Air Patrol for 27 years.
Harry is survived by a son Scott Fortune and his wife Kristie of Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida and a daughter Paula Hatter and her husband Dennis of Connellsville; six grandchildren, Tyler, Jacob and Samuel Fortune and Stephanie, Erik and Melinda Sue Hatter; a sister Margaret Janosko of Duquesne.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville, Pa. on Thursay from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Blessing Service will be held Friday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Connellsville with Rev. Terry Hercik as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville..
