Bernard Ray Works
Bernard Ray “Junior” Works, 47, of Hopwood, Pa., after a lengthy struggle with cancer, fell asleep peacefully to be with his Lord on Friday evening, July 25, 2003 at home with his loving family and faithful dog at his bedside.
He was born on May 24, 1956 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Bernard Works Jr. and Leona Ruth Kolbfleisch Works.
Bernard was a member of Uniontown Church of The Brethren.
He was a Certified Diesel and Auto Mechanic, tow truck operator, and A.S.E. Certified Master Truck Technician and was employed at Works Auto & Truck Service in Hopwood.
He was a member of Fayette Lodge No. 228 as a 32nd Degree Master Mason, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Consistory, Valley of Pittsburgh, Syria Shrine, Caravan 9 of Uniontown, Pa., and Uniontown Order of Eastern Star No. 263.
He was a Life Member of Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department.
Bernard enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and was very proud of his daughter, who is a student at Bethany College. He was very proud of both of their accomplishments!
He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and children.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Paula J. (Couch) Works; beloved children: Allison L. Works and Stephen M. Works both at home; his brother, David A. Works and wife, Cindi L., nephew, David Works Jr., and niece, Andrea D. Works, all of Hopwood; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., today from 6 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Tuesday, July 29, in Uniontown Church of The Brethren, Robinson Street, Uniontown, from 10 a.m. until the Service at 11 a.m. Rev. Dr. Neil Hoppe will officiate.
Interment will follow in Sansom Chapel Cemetery, Farmington, Pa.
Fayette Lodge No. 228 F. & A. M. will conduct a Service in the Funeral Home today at 7:30 p.m.
Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department will hold a service Monday at 7:30 p.m.
