James Lee Johns
James Lee Johns, age 66, of 340 Desko Road, McClellandtown, PA 15458 died Sunday, June 1, 2003 at 1:20 a.m. in West Virginia University Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born February 23, 1937 in German Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of Charles Johns and Daisey Marie Frazie Johns.
James was a retired Coal Miner from United States Steel Corporation’s Robena Mine and also a retired Bus Driver from Edenfield Stages in New Salem, Pa.
He was a member of Masontown Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
James was a very hard worker and a loving Father to his two children. He was a strong man of few words. He bravely fought to the end battling a terminal illness which took his life. He will be sadly missed by the many hearts he touched!
On August 7, 1965 in Pittsburgh, Pa., he married Geraldine Chavez Johns, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Michaelin Johns Staley of Gallatin, Pa., and her fianc’, Michael Adams of Masontown, Pa.; a son, James Jeremy Johns and his fiancee, Jeanna Scarry, both of Smithfield, Pa.; brother, Paul Johns and his wife, Ruth, of Carmichaels, Pa.; granddaughters: Kyrstle Lynn Staley and Trinidy Mishaela LaGuardia; grandson, Dakota James Johns; step grandson, Brandon Michael Adams; also several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Charles Johns and Ray Johns, sister, Eva Marie Johns, and parents preceded him in death.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church on 7 River Avenue, Masontown, PA 15461 today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 4, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Mr. Donald Longfellow officiating.
Interment will follow in Jacobs Lutheran Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
