Elizabeth M. Close
Elizabeth M. Pletcher Rodgers Close, 91, formerly of Ohiopyle, Pa., passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2003, in Kamps Personal Care Home, Markleysburg. She was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Easton, W.Va., daughter of the late Jermiah and Mammie Wolf Pletcher.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Charles J. Rodgers Sr., her second husband, Thomas R. Close, a son, Jackie Close; two sisters, Margaret Dunn and Thelma Lanham, and a brother, Charles Pletcher.
Surviving are two children, Charles A. Rodgers and wife, Betty of Uniontown, and Marlene Uphold of Richmond, Va.; a brother, John Pletcher; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
Mrs. Close was a member of Mt. Citizens Action Group, and had been employed at Braddock Inn for many years.
There will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood.
