Katherine “Kitty” Kops
Katherine Kitty (Shoukal) Kops, 87, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Masontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at 11:37 a.m.
She was born Nov. 3, 1915, in Baxter, W.Va., daughter of the late Joseph Shoukal and Barbara (Ratkovich) Shoukal.
Kitty was a homemaker, a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church of Masontown, Pa., and the Christian Mothers of All Saints.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Helen and husband, Glenn Tawney of Cumming, Ga.; a granddaughter, Katherine and husband, Scott Miller of Gans, Pa., a grandson, Glenn A. Tawney of Cumming, Ga., a granddaughter, Barbara Coleman and Larry Stiner of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; a grandson, David and wife, Jennifer Tawney of Woodstock, Ga., a granddaughter, Monica and husband, Barry Calhoun of Kennesaw, Ga.; the following great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joey, Elena, Justin, Hunter, Kyle, David and Ashley; a sister, Agnes Dewhurst of Woodbridge, Va.; and a brother, Michael Shoukal of New Hampshire.
Friends were received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, Corner of Church & River Aves., Masontown, Pa., on Thursday, June 5, 2003, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held today at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., in All Saints R.C. Church, Masontown, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery of Leckrone, Pa.
