Man arrested
Bryian L. Jelovac, 26, of Ridge-view, W.Va., was charged with theft for allegedly not returning almost $7,000 worth of items he rented from Fayco Rentals on Connells-ville Street, state police in Uniontown said.
He allegedly rented a $5,200 stump grinder, $1,200 trailer, $500 hydraulic floor jack and a $25 four-way wrench on Sept. 26, 2002.
Charges were filed on Dec. 11 and District Justice Deberah Kula issued a warrant for his arrest. On Friday, constables took Jelovac into custody in Smithfield on an unrelated summary warrant and handed him over to police.
He was arraigned and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $5,000 straight cash bail.

Burglary investigated
City police are investigating a burglary at Konko’s Sports Bar on Askren Street. Owners Michael and Kristen Carr found a screen door cut and at least six bottles of liquor missing from a storage room Sunday at 11:23 p.m.

Brent R. Shaw of Snyder Terrace was cited for disorderly conduct Sunday at 3:14 a.m., when city police said they found him with a smoking pipe in a van parked along Jefferson Street with the interior lights on.

Woman charged
Simple assault and harassment charges were filed against Sandra M. Kent of Vanderbilt for allegedly pulling Kelly Lynn Stanton to the ground by her hair and repeatedly punching her at a Fourth Street residence in Uledi at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, state police said.

Vincent D. Glisan of Markleysburg was cited for violating the Open Container Law for allegedly drinking in his vehicle in the Uniontown Mall parking lot Friday at 8:45 p.m., state police said.

Citation filed
A harassment citation was filed against Kenneth Ashton of Uniontown for allegedly following Denise Ashton of Hopwood and calling her names Friday at 5 p.m. at a residence along Route 40, state police said.

A retail theft citation was filed against Randall K. Fisher Jr. of Uniontown for allegedly not paying for $10.01 in gasoline at the Best For Less gas station in Oliver at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

Someone broke windows on homes at 602 and 762 Fairbank Herbert Road owned by Mary Coppolino and Alfred Judd at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

A garage on Wilson Avenue adjacent to Uniontown Area High School was found forced open Sunday at 6:35 a.m., but nothing appeared to be missing, city police said.

State police said someone threw a small firework item in the window of a vehicle owned by Albert John Cellurale, 51, of Hopwood while the vehicle was parked at 112 Buall Drive Saturday afternoon.

Lori Beth Glotfelty of Farmington told state police someone took her purse from her shopping cart at Giant Eagle Sunday sometime between 7:30 and 7:45 p.m.
