Bid accepted The Lower Tyrone Township supervisors accepted a $1,325 bid Tuesday from Nicholson of Connellsville for the township’s 1983 International truck, according to supervisor Chairman Ernie Walters.
Walters said the supervisors also donated $616 to the Dawson Volunteer Fire Co. as their one-third portion of a newly purchased $1,800 multigas detector. The fire company and Dawson Borough agreed to pay the additional two-thirds of the cost.
Complaints aired
The Upper Tyrone Township supervisors fielded complaints Tuesday about the lack of a sewerage officer, according to secretary Louise Koza.
They also awarded a contract to Davies Ford of Bullskin Township for a 3-ton truck chassis, at a price of $34,590.
Koza noted that the hydraulics portion of the contract went to Walsh Hydraulics, at a cost of $20,490.
