Doris Deems Skoda
Doris I. Deems Skoda, 84, of Isabella, Pa., passed away Friday, June 13, 2003 in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born March 29, 1919 in Arensburg, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Francis M. Deems and Edith Everhart Deems.
Doris was a member of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church.
She loved to read her Bible and great novels, crochet, shop and eat out.
Her husband, Joseph Skoda, two brothers, Clifford Ruth and William Robert Deems, a sister, Grace Deems, and parents preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters: Elizabeth “Betty” Skoda Pratt and her husband, John “Jack” Pratt, and Linda Skoda Rable and her husband, James Rable; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Merle Deems Onesko of Ralph, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 3 to 9 p.m.
Visitation continues Monday, June 16, in Hopewell United Presbyterian Church, Hopewell Road, Brownsville, Pa., from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gail Mason officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
