Tracy H. Matthews
Tracy Hughes Matthews, 87, of Mount Independence, Pa., died Friday, June 13, 2003 in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, Pa. She was born August 8, 1915 in Dunbar Township, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of William Hughes and Lottie Friend Hughes.
Tracy was the retired Owner/Operator of the Clover Farm Grocery Store in Mount Independence.
She was a member of Pillar of Fire Church in Mount Braddock and attended Cove Run Free Methodist Church in Yauger Hollow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Matthews in 1980 and parents.
Tracy was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by two Sons: Melvin H. Matthews and wife Lois, Uniontown, Pa., and Franklin D. Matthews Sr. and wife Barbara, Mount Braddock, Pa.; two Step Daughters: Lena Mae Crossland and Maxine Gibbs and husband, Ross Gibbs Sr., of Mount Independence; one Step Son, Thomas O. Mathews, Mount Independence; five Grandchildren: Gregory Matthews and wife Christy, Marcy Matthews Popson, Pam Matthews Crum and husband John, Cindy Mathews, Frank Matthews Jr. and wife Mary; eight Great Grandchildren: Shawn Popson, Savannah Matthews, Joshua Gregory Matthews, Tiffani Crum, Danielle Crum, Marissa Matthews, Molly Matthews, and Sarah Matthews; several Step Grandchildren and Step Great Grandchildren; Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, June 17, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Roger Yeager officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Auburn Cemetery.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
