Relay for Life set The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life will be held Aug. 9-10 at Laurel Highlands High School from 10 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Anyone interested in getting more information or fielding a team for the Relay For Life event is invited to attend a meeting on Thursday at the Polish Club on S. Mt. Vernon Avenue in Uniontown at 6 p.m.
The Relay For Life brings together teams from local businesses, schools, churches, and families for camaraderie, food, fun, music, entertainment, a night under the stars – all while team members take turns walking or running on a track.
Relay For Life features a cancer Survivors Walk and reception to celebrate life, and an evening Luminaria Ceremony, which memorializes those we have lost their lives to cancer and honors those who are fighting or have conquered the disease.
“Relay For Life brings communities together,” said Barb Yalich, co-chair of the event. “We honor those fighting the battle, and remember those we’ve lost – all while raising money for much needed cancer research, education, advocacy and service.”

Reunion announced
The second Keisterville Community Homecoming Reunion will be held on Saturday, July 26.
The reunion will remember and thank former and present residents who enlisted in the Armed Forces while residing in Keisterville. The reunion is for all family and friends associated with Keisterville from the past and present.
The deadline for the Saturday, July 26, program and dinner is Saturday, July 19, or until maximum number is reached. No reservations will be taken after Saturday, July 19. If interested contact Lois Brant Smoley, at 724-430-9821.
On Sunday, July 27, the Keisterville Honor Roll will be dedicated. The sons and daughters of Keisterville who serve or served in the Armed Forces of our nation will be honored at this dedication.
The dedication will include a parade at 2:30 p.m. followed by the dedication ceremony at 3 p.m.
