Howard J. Roush
Howard J. Roush, 97, of Gates, Adah, Pa., died on Sunday, June 22, 2003 in Mon Pointe Continuing Care Center, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on May 28, 1906 in Red Rock, West Virginia, son of Homer Edward Roush and Sarah Craven Roush.
Mr. Roush was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Masontown, Pa., and United Mine Workers of America District 2 Robena Mine Local 6321.
He was a retired Coal Miner and a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Great-Great Grandfather, Brother and Friend to all in the Gates community!
His warm nature, outgoing personality, and ability to repair just about anything will always be remembered by his family and many, many friends.
Howard was the last member of his immediate family. His parents, beloved wife, Sarah Jacobs Roush, brother, Clyde Roush, and sisters, Helen Roush and Marguerite Roush King, preceded him in death.
Surviving are three children: Grace Roush of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Harriet Roush Etherton with whom he made his home in Morgantown, West Virginia, and James Roush and wife, Helen, of Shiloh, New Jersey; many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 25, when his Funeral will be held (time will be announced).
Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
