Anna Mazzocco Ross
Anna V. Mazzocco Ross, 90, of Perryopolis, Pa, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 in the home of her daughter, Donna Ross Persh, Wyckoff, New Jersey, surrounded by loving family members. Anna was born February 16, 1913 in Republic, Pa., the daughter of the late Clement and Constance Magazine Mazzocco.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Ross, son-in-law, Ben Persh, brothers, John Mazzocco, Dr. Daniel Mazzocco, Guy Mazzocco, Michael Mazzocco, William Mazzocco, sister, Lena Bruni, and parents.
Anna was a graduate of the former Redstone High School, Republic, Pa., and also cosmetology school.
Anna, along with her late husband, John Ross, owned and operated J. J. Ross’s Grocery Store and in later years, The Leader Store, both in Perryopolis, until Mr. Ross’s death in 1969.
Anna was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, and until recent years, a member of the Perryopolis Senior Citizens Group.
Anna was devoted to her Family, deriving much pleasure in her homemaking skills of baking and cooking, crocheting, and gardening. Her many years of dedication and support to her Family will be deeply missed!
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Donna Persh and dear friend, John Margroff, of Wyckoff, New Jersey, and Lenora Guesman and husband, John, of Perryopolis, Pa.; four granddaughters: Penny Mandara and husband, Gary, of Franklin, New Jersey, Tracy McCann and husband, John, of East Hanover, New Jersey, Terri Foster and husband, Andrew, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and Jill Guesman and fiancÇ, Christopher Standley, of El Paso, Texas. Also surviving are two great grandchildren, Samantha Mandara and Brandon Mandara both of Franklin, New Jersey.
Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, March 3, where a Prayer Service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
