Elsie P. Whaley Reckner, 81, of Confluence, Pa., died Thursday, February 27, 2003 in Somerset Hospital, Somerset, Pa. Born November 17, 1921 in Confluence, Pa., she was the daughter of Lewis Whaley and Grace Hyatt Whaley.

Elsie was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church where she also taught Sunday School and was a Superintendent for many years.

A son, Stephen Reckner, sisters, Mead Whaley Beachy, Dorothy Whaley McClintock, Mary Whaley Anderson, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Harvey W. Reckner; a son, Harvey Reckner Jr. and wife, Ida Mae, and daughter-in-law, Bernice Reckner, all of Confluence, Pa.; granddaughters: Venus and husband Jeff Stark of Addison, Pa., Julie and husband Doug Adamsky and Stephanie and husband, Wayne Speicher all of Confluence, Pa.; three great grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Whaley Warrick, and brothers, John Whaley, William Whaley, Delmar Whaley and Arnold Whaley all of Confluence, Pa.

Friends will be received at the HUMBERT FUNERAL HOME, Logan Place, Confluence, Pa., today from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. where a Service will be held Monday, March 3, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Timothy Rogers officiating.

Interment will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
