Melvin G. Brown Sr., 69, of Republic, Pa., died Saturday, March 1, 2003 in the Brownsville General Hospital, Brownsville, Pa. He was born June 13, 1933 in Banning, Pa., the son of James William Brown and Regina (Helmick) Brown.

His parents and a sister, Connie Lou Miller, preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter, Beth A. Brown of Uniontown, Pa; a son, Melvin G. Brown Jr. of Tower Hill 2, Pa.; two grandchildren: Samuel Turner and Shiann Turner; his former spouse, Alice (Yocabet) Brown of Republic, Pa.; three brothers: James W. Brown of Jefferson, Pa., Donald Brown of Parma, Ohio, and William David Brown of Tower Hill 2, Pa.; four sisters: Patty Mandola of Vanderbilt, Pa., Mary Kay O’Brien of Venice, Florida, Regina Ebner of McClellandtown, Pa., and Judy Hickman of Glassport, Pa.; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, March 5, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Ginny Eberhart officiating.

Interment will follow in Greendale Cemetery, Masontown, Pa.
