Charles M. Latsnik
Charles M. Latsnik, 69, of Penn Craft, Pa., passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2003 at his residence.
He was born June 14, 1933 in Masontown, Pa., son of Mary Latsnik Christoff and the late Michael Latsnik.
He attended West Bend United Methodist Church, was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired from United States Steel Corporation’s Clairton Works.
He was a member of United Steel Workers of America, American Legion Post No. 940, West Brownsville, and Brownsville Eagles, and a social member of the Hiller Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his first wife, Genevieve Wellington Latsnik, a stepson, Louis Brown, and stepfather, Phillip Christoff.
He is survived by his second wife, Thelma Palmer Cox Latsnik; two sons and a daughter: Charles Latsnik and his wife, Mary, of Uniontown, Pa., Michael Latsnik and his wife, Dee, of Stockton, California, and Suellen Vitullo of North Pittsburgh, Pa.; stepchildren: Dolores Walters of Lake Lynn, Pa., Dolora Williams of Uniontown, Pa., Peggy Britt of Tampa, Florida, Beverly DeFigio of Penn Craft, Pa., Carolyn Bungard and her husband, Troy, of Ohiopyle, Pa., and George Cox and his wife, Theresa, of Huntingburg, Indiana, 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters and a brother: Dorothy Ponick and her husband, Andrew, of McKeesport, Pa., Elaine Sholtis and her husband, Mike, of Smithfield, Pa., and Timothy Christoff and his wife, Nancy, of Columbus, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today (Thursday, March 6) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Paul Wilson officiating.
Interment will follow in West Bend Methodist Church Cemetery, East Millsboro, Pa., where Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post No. 940, West Brownsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at 483 Hopewell Road, East Millsboro, PA 15433.
Visitation was also held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
