Robert Dugan, 83, of Blain Avenue, McClellandtown, told police Tuesday that someone entered his home and stole $200.

Fire reported
Fayette 911 reported that Uniontown Fire Department, North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department and Uniontown EMS responded to a structure fire on Butler Street at 7:28 p.m. Tuesday. There were no reported injuries. Firemen were at the fire for about one hour, according to the report.

Hit-and-run probed
Marissa Mason of Wheeling, W.Va., told state police at Waynesburg Sunday that she was struck from behind by white Dodge Ram truck while traveling south on Route 79 in Franklin Township. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 724-627-6151.

Theft reported
Consolidated Coal Co., Rices Landing, told state police Saturday that someone took circuit breaker boxes from its property.

Criminal mischief
Wendy Gay Hamel, 46, of Waynesburg told police Sunday that someone shot out the front passenger side window of her 1984 Ford Tempo with a BB gun while her car was parked on Sugar Run Road sometime between March 1 and March 2 causing about $100 in damage.

Hit-and-run reported
Beverly Jane Shough of Wind Ridge told police Feb. 28 that a man in an older model blue and silver Dodge pickup truck struck the back of her vehicle while it was parked at the Rush Grocery and Video store on Municipal Drive. Shough said the driver left the scene of the accident without giving her his insurance information. Police said several witnesses gave detailed description of the vehicle and a partial registration plate number.

Firearm discharged
Jerry William Hartley, 52, of Graysville told police Feb. 28 that someone fired a gun at his residence on Poland Run Road, at Varner Lane, damaging the siding and wood underneath causing about $200 in damages.

Aggravated assault
State police at Waynesburg said they charged Michael Allan Hayes, 20, of 2646 Smith Creek Rd., Waynesburg, with aggravated assault at District Justice Neil M. Canan’s office for a slashing incident that happened on Feb. 27 in Franklin Township.
Police said Hayes allegedly slashed Billy Jack Brown, 20, of Waynesburg with a samurai-type sword on the right forearm twice and caused welts across the back of John Brown, 41, of 1461 Mt. Morris Road, Waynesburg.
Billy Jack Brown was treated at Greene County Memorial Hospital, police said.
After his arraignment Hayes was placed in the Greene County Jail in lieu of 10 percent of $50,000 bond. Hayes faces a preliminary hearing before Canan at a later date.

Two cited
State police cited Rhonda S. Dulaney, 48, and Ashley E. Dulaney, 18, both of Carmichaels, Sunday with harassment after the women got into a verbal argument in front of 51 Cumberland Village.

A representative of the City Mission Women’s Shelter, located on 217 Lenox St., told police Wednesday that a man, dressed in black, was looking into shelter windows.

Man charged
Township code enforcement officer Roger Adams filed charges of illegal burning against Donald Lint Jr. of Dickerson Run Hollow after he allegedly conducted burning on his property on March 4.
Adams said burning is limited to Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Man indicted
U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced that John I. Bronson Jr. of Fayette City was indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating federal drug laws. The five-count indictment named Bronson, 46, of 108 Jefferson Drive, as the sole defendant.
The indictment alleged that Bronson conspired to distribute in excess of 5 kilograms of cocaine and a quantity of oxycodone from July 1999 through October 2002 and alleged he also possessed, with intent to distribute, and distributed a quantity of oxycodone on Oct. 3, 2002, and Feb. 18-19, 2003.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael A. Comer presented the case to the grand jury. The law provides for a prison sentence of no fewer than 10 years or more than life, a fine of $7 million or both. The Drug Enforcement Administration, state police and the Allegheny County District Attorney Narcotic’s Enforcement Team conducted the investigation that led to the indictment.

State police said a 14-year-old boy told a 14-year-old girl he would shoot her on a school bus, but police said the boy had no gun. The incident occurred along Blue Rock Road between 3 and 5 p.m. Feb. 24.

Theft reported
An unknown man promised a dozen T-shirts bearing the Midway Inn’s name to someone at the establishment, who gave the man $100 Feb. 25 at 5 p.m., according to state police. The suspect was white, 6 feet tall, in his early 20s, with a slender build and dark hair. Police said anyone with information should call the Uniontown station at 724-439-7111.

Someone broke all six windows in the foundation of a house along Lower Sandy Hollow Road between Feb. 21 and Monday, said state police.

State police said two Uniontown men agreed to meet Tuesday at 10:50 a.m. at a grocery store parking lot to fight.

Someone stole a four-door, gray 1987 Buick Century, owned by Ernest and Modestine Giachetti of Uniontown, from the parking lot at Chez Joey Apartments between 11 p.m. Feb. 25 and 8 a.m. Feb. 26, state police said.

State police said someone took a two-tone, brown 1994 GMC Sierra truck with ladder racks from outside the 1052 Woodstock Ave., Hopwood, residence of Timothy J. Brewer at 4:46 a.m. Saturday.

State police said someone stole a car owned by Linda G. Walkos of Uniontown and left it in a wooded section of the Hopwood-Coolspring area near Uniontown at 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

No charges filed
Carmella Wilcznski, 46, of Smithfield, told state police a man known to her made numerous harassing, obscene phone calls to her Strickland Estates residence along between 3 p.m. Feb. 22 and 9 a.m. Feb. 24. Police said Wilcznski refused to testify and press charges, and the incident was cleared.
