Naomie Burgess Moss

Naomie K. (Burgess) Moss, 76, of Grindstone, Pa., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 3, 2003.

She was born on October 6, 1926 in Logan County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late George Leander and Eva Mae (Maynard) Burgess.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Allen Moss on September 11, 1983, a daughter, Sharon Sue (Moss) Preston and three brothers, Jesse Burgess, Arlo Burgess and John Burgess.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church in Kiahsville, West Virginia.

Naomie was a kind, gentle woman with a love for God and she was loved by everyone whose lives she touched.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Debbie Price and husband Thomas of Wrightstown, N.J.; six grandchildren: Heather Williams and husband, Larry of Confluence, Pa., George Lee III and wife Angie of New Salem, Pa., Robert L. Preston Jr. of Grindstone, Pa., Dean Preston and wife Rhonda of East Millsboro, Pa., Renee Price of Lanoka Harbor, New Jersey, and Tiffany Eldridge and husband Thomas of Fort Drum, New York; eight great grandchildren: Alicia and Christian Williams, Brenda Sue and Bobby Preston, Amber and Dean Preston and Tyler and Mikaela DuPuis; six brothers and sisters: Earl Burgess and wife Frances of Branchland, W.Va., Frank Burgess and wife Gladys Burgess of Ranger, W.Va., Boyd Burgess and wife Naomie Burgess of Bob White, W.Va., Verlin Burgess and wife Jackie of Wharton, W.Va., Nancy Brumfield and husband Conn of Branchland, W.Va., Ernie Sova and husband John of Cleveland, Ohio; a very beloved friend and companion, Ted Suba of Menallen Township, Fayette County, Pa.; and many more family members and friends.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., today (Thursday, March 6) until 10 a.m., the hour of Service in the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Earl Burgess and the Rev. Freddie Ray officiating.

Interment will follow in Westland Cemetery, West Brownsville, Pa.

Visitation was also held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
