Announcements SPIRITUAL SUPPORT GROUP MEMBERS SOUGHT: Under the direction of Sheriff Gary Brownfield Sr., the Fayette County Sheriff’s Tactical Search & Rescue Team is asking members of the Fayette County ministerial community to volunteer to become part of a spiritual support group aiding the Search and Rescue Team with the needs of the families that require the services of the team. The Search and Rescue Team is a non-profit organization of trained volunteers in all areas of search and rescue. Many times the families involved in a search and rescue operation go unattended due to the fact that these volunteers are concentrating on finding a lost person or dealing with a disaster.
With the help of a spiritual care team, officials hope to provide the spiritual and emotional support that the families of these victims so desperately need. In addition, the same support will be offered to the members involved in the search and rescue efforts in the even the operation ends in tragedy.

BROWNSVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHARGE announces the Rev. Paul E. Wilson Sr. will begin a series from “The Struggle and the Glory in the Hills in Jesus’ Life’ with “The Hill of Temptation” at Sunday worship at 8:30 a.m. at West Bend, 10 a.m. at South Brownsville and 11 a.m. The Third Annual Community Choir Festival will take place on Sunday at First Church at 6:30 p.m. Nine local churches will be represented during this night of Christian music.

CALIFORNIA UNITED METH-ODIST CHURCH, 227 Third St. at Liberty St., announces that on Wednesdays of the Lenten season (March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9) will be celebrated with a covered dish dinner, beginning at 6 p.m. Meat rolls and beverage will be provided by the church. The pastor and the church elder representative will attend the bi-monthly meeting of Washington Presbytery at Center Presbyterian Church in McMurray on Tuesday at 4 p.m. On Wednesday, the Lenten dinner programs begin at 6 p.m. in fellowship hall. Volunteers will lead these Lenten programs that follow dinner. The theme this year is “Watchers on the Hill.’ Those attending are asked to bring their own table service and a covered dish. Rolls and beverages will be provided by the hosts, which this week are the deacons.

CYRIL AND METHODIUS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH IN FAIRCHANCE will hold a Mass with anointing on Sunday at 3 p.m. Officials said, “If you or someone you know experiences physical, emotional or spiritual difficulties and would like both prayers and the sacrament of the sick, please join us on this day as we celebrate the Mass and the sacrament of the sick. ST. GEORGE SERBIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH IN CARMICHAELS announces representatives of Pittsburgh area Serbian Orthodox churches, including St. George, will travel to St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Johnstown on Sunday for Forgiveness Vespers, marking the beginning of Great Lent. Fasting, prayer, increased church services and almsgiving will take place in remembrance of Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and in preparation of the celebration of his resurrection.

ST. HEDWIG AND ST. CECILIA ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCHES continue its a series of sessions on Mariology (the study of Mary), on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia Church Hall in Grindstone.
