Mark S. Kampert, no age given, of Uniontown told state police Thursday that someone traveling north on Route 51 near Bernie’s Dinner struck his 1983 Pontiac LE 600.

State police said Teresa M. Mahoney, 23, no address given, was traveling near the intersection of Pittsburgh and Water streets Monday when she hit a patch of ice, lost control of her vehicle and ended up in a ditch.

Rebecca Kotula, no age given, of Uniontown told police Wednesday that someone entered her vehicle while parked in the Giant Eagle parking lot and stole a dipper bag and WIC checks.

Man charged
Frederick Anthony Sherwood Jr., 26, of 27 ½ E. Kerr St. was charged Thursday by city police with simple assault, harassment and false imprisonment for allegedly holding a woman in her apartment. Police said Sherwood was arraigned before District Justice Mark Blair and sent to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bond.

State police at Uniontown said Mark Alan Boyd, 36, of New Salem was charged Thursday with driving under the influence of alcohol after Boyd drove off Youngstown Road and hit a concrete wall.

State police said Durell L. Decarlo, 32, no address given, lost control of her vehicle on ice Monday along Route 51 near the Mini Mart and struck a utility pole.

Tina Johnson of 91 Walnut Street told city police Thursday that someone known to her flattened all four tires on her vehicle and broke the windshield.

Vehicle recovered
Robert Cole, no age or address given, told city police Thursday that someone took his vehicle from A Plus at 55 Morgantown St. Police recovered the vehicle about 30 minutes later in an alley between Walnut and Lenox streets. Police said the passenger side wing window was broken and there was damage to the steering wheel and ignition area. Police also said wires under the dashboard were cut.

Gregory Morton, 21, of 45 Union St. was charged with felony possession of cocaine and driving while under the influence of alcohol Thursday after city police stopped him on Robinson Street for running a stop sign.

State police said Tremain Johnson, 18, of Masontown, Jarrod Reed, 18, of McClellandtown and a 15-year-old juvenile from Masontown sustained moderate injuries when the vehicle Johnson was driving struck an embankment along Route 166 at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

State police said Eva Marcinek of Vanderbilt and Marilyn Banko of Connellsville suffered minor injuries when their vehicles collided at the intersection of Route 21 and Ridge Road at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.
