Andrew Sasarak Jr., age 70, of Perryopolis, Pa., died Saturday, March 8, 2003 at 11 a.m. in Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. He was born June 23, 1932 in Perryopolis, Pa., son of Andrew Sasarak and Katherine Grimplin Sasarak.

“Andy” was a member of St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis.

He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Perryopolis V. F. W. Goldstar Post 7023.

He was also a member of Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department.

“Andy” was preceded in death by two sons, John A. Sasarak (November 26, 1975) and Ronald Sasarak (January 19, 1980), and his parents.

He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Frank (Josephine) Polachek of Perryopolis where Andy made his home; a grandson, Rob C. McElfresh of Washington, Pa.; and several nieces.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, March 11, at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with Rev. Fr. John T. Euker as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis. Graveside Military Honors will be accorded by V. F. W. Goldstar Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752, Perryopolis.

A Wake Service will be held this afternoon at 3 p.m.

Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Service in the Funeral Home this evening at 7:30 p.m.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
