Alex F. Novinsky
Alex F. Novinsky, 82, of Brownsville, Pa., died Monday, March 10, 2003, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1921, in Braznell, Pa., son of the late Stanley Novinsky Sr., in 1969, and Frances Klotc Novinsky in 1974.
He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church of Brownsville, Pa., and was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Alex was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Class of 1939, and he served in the Pacific and European Theaters during World War II.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by Republic Steel Corporation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Novinsky and Verna Martell; and a brother, Stanley Novinsky Jr.
Surviving are three sisters, Mary Matty of Waynesburg, Pa., Pauline Poling of Brownsville, Pa., and Geraldine Helisek of Hiller, Pa.; a brother, Walter Novinsky of Grindstone, Pa.; and many dear friends.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m., in St. Mary R.C. Church, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Brownsville, Pa. St. Mary’s Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary today at 3 p.m.
