Church to host missions conference
Faith Assembly of God, 690 Morgantown Road, Uniontown, will host a missions conference March 22-23 that features the Rev. Jack Belin of Convoy of Hope and the music ministry of Scott Wesley Brown. “Our church supports 35 missionaries and missions endeavors in the United States and around the world, including many facets of outreach,’ explained the Rev. Don Immel, senior pastor. “One thing we support is a counseling center in Akron, Ohio. We have missionaries around the world. We fund orphanages and training facilities for native pastors.’
Each year, representatives of the missions visit Faith Assembly. Rev. Immel explained this also heightens awareness of the needs of missions for the congregation.
This coming weekend, Rev. Belin will address the church. He’s a director for the Convoy of Hope, a ministry that takes food and medical supplies to crisis areas around the world.
In addition, Belin founded a ministry to children in Bolivia whose parents are incarcerated.
Rev. Immel explained, “A man takes his family with him when he’s incarcerated in Bolivia. Rev. Belin founded a school for the children.’
Brown, a nationally known Christian artist who his known for his world outreach minister, will lead these worship services.
Rev. Immel noted that Brown performed in the first contemporary Christian concert in Moscow and has produced a worship CD geared towards global evangelism.
Rev. Belin will appear at Faith Assembly on Saturday, March 22 at 6 p.m. at a missions banquet that will feature food from around the world. Rusty and Oakley Trubey, campus ministers at West Virginia University, will also be at the banquet.
Rev. Belin will also speak at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. services on Sunday, March 23. Brown will also give a benefit performance at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 23 for Convoy of Hope.
