Bertha E. Cole, 90, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away Monday, March 10, 2003 in Highlands Hospital. Born December 17, 1912 in Leisenring, Pa., she was the daughter of Eddy M. Cole and Mary E. Zanchi Cole.

She was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church in Leisenring.

Bertha was the owner and operator for several years of the former Cole’s Hardware and Garden Center in Leisenring.

Four brothers, Frederick, Eddy, Robert and Paul Cole, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Betty Wingard of Dunbar, Pa.; and her longtime companion, Frank Widener.

There will be no public visitation.

Friends and Family of Bertha E. Cole will be received in St. Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church, Leisenring, on Monday, March 17, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Peretti of St Vincent DePaul Roman Catholic Church as Celebrant.

Arrangements are by the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First Street, West Side, Connellsville, Pa.
